A: There is no horse experience needed, however horseback riding is a physical activity so our guests should be physically fit. We would like to know the level of our guests’ horse riding skills so we can pick the right horse for each rider.
Q: Do you offer any discounts?
A: Yes, we offer discounts for Alaska residents, as well as family and group discounts.
Q: What kind of clothes I need to wear?
A: Please wear long pants, boots or shoes (no sandals) and dress in layers (extra layer and rain gear is recommended - we can attach these items to your saddle).
Q: Can my child ride with me?
A: Minimum age for horseback ride is 10 years old. No riding double. Children are required to wear helmets.
Q: Do you have weight limit?
A: No, our horses vary in size/strength and we do have couple draft horses that are able to handle a larger person. Please let us know in advance if you need a bigger horse.
Q: How much time do I spend riding a horse when I go on a 3&1/2 hour tour?
A: You will ride for about two and half hours (it sounds like a long time in a saddle but there will be a break to allow you to get off your horse and stretch your legs:-) The tour includes transportation.
Reservation & Cancellation Policy:
Reservations must be secured with a 50% deposit. We accept cash, personal checks, travelers checks, credit/debit cards (PayPal invoicing) and money transfers.
Because we are a small business and there is high demand for our tours during the summer months, we must enforce a strict cancellation and no-show policy.
If you cancel your tour, the following fees apply:
· More than 30 days in advance: $10 cancellation fee.
· 15 to 30 days in advance: 25% of the deposited amount.
· 7 to 14 days in advance: 50% of the deposited amount.
· Less than 7 days in advance and no-show: no refund.
Weather is beyond our control therefore there is no refund if that’s the reason for your cancellation. If you decide to change the date and/or time of the tour a $20 change fee will be applied to your reservation. Changes can be made only if we can confirm availability on the new date and/or time.
In the event that a tour is canceled by Denali Horseback Tours a full refund will be provided.
