Many of our guests come to us with little or no riding experience. Experienced rider or novice, we have the right horse and the right adventure for you. The groups are kept small allowing your wrangler/guide to help with riding instructions and share information and stories about Denali area.
We offer 3&1/2 hour, half day and full day horseback tours. Transportation from & back to a hotel or B&B you are staying at in Denali area is included. If our regular pick up times don't fit your schedule don't hesitate to contact us!
Pick up times are:
08:30am
12:00pm
03:30pm
07:00pm
We recommend you to dress in layers since Alaskan weather can change very quickly. Wear long comfortable pants, no shorts. No sandals or open toe shoes. Boots, hiking or running shoes work good.
After we introduce you to your horse we’ll go through a short safety orientation. Helmets, bug spray and gloves are available. When everyone has been assisted in mounting their horse, stirrups adjusted, the adventure begins! We’ll leave our home, following mostly game trails that moose and other wildlife use more than we do.
During the ride you'll learn about Alaskan fauna and flora, surrounding mountains, gold and coal mining in the area, permafrost and it's effects, how is the life in a wintertime and what's the best way to cook a moose;-)
After the ride we'll be happy to show you some moose and caribou antlers, compare lynx and wolf skulls and check out few old traps we found buried a foot under the tundra.
If you are more of a "horse-person" let us know and we'll tell you all about our "ponies", whether or not they like moose and how do we ride at 20 below.
Make sure that you bring your camera! There are going to be some great photo opportunities and a good chance of viewing wildlife.
